Help ! 'The Harry
Lime Theme' is totally not good at all. Plodding and lame
with the zither bits sounding like they are played by Hank
Marvin-with a poorly hand-and a blindfold on. Nonsense !
|
A pretty faithful
but unremarkable version of 'Shaft' is what makes this album
worth having, but its not one to pay any kind of money for.
No one in the band seemed to give a damn either because they
are certainly not worried about keeping in time on it.

It could be a
fair assumption that Kenny Everett got the idea for his Brother
Lee Love thang after a dose of this record. 'Amazing Grace'
is particularly disgraceful, even for a bunch of Jesus-pushers...this
one's for Satan!

Spoilt for choice
really with an album full of kiddies songs sung by beardy hippies...top

Stay away from the brown blotter acid...

Now then, the 'Rainbow'
theme, as we're sure those of a certain age will recall, is
blessed in parts with a nice beat and some wigged-out guitar...

farmers, burning pyres of culled livestock and the stench
of the silage pit...
|
Wow ! A free-jazz
take on 'Ironside'. I shit you not. Bass, flute and piano
do their own wonderful thing and turn this into a real corker-especially
if you turn the pitch up just a touch...go on, try it-you'll
like it !

With twenty cuts
on here there is a right load of old cock to chose from, but
somehow those 50's covers always seem to stand out in a bad
way, so its a toss up between 'Leader of the pack' and 'Da
doo ron ron', as you can't really put a fag paper between
them in terms of being gratuitously dreadful...
|
As you might
expect from the title of the LP, they have a good old bash
at Sly's biggest hit, and blimey-it's really not half bad
at all thank you very much!!!

Why in God's
name was Alan Moorhouse allowed to carve out a career dishing
up 'Hits In A Military Swinging Style' ? There are at least
four of these efforts and between them contain one solitary
track worth hearing. Everything is smothered with terrible
parade ground rat-a-tat drums. The sleeve notes state that
Moorhouse 'is one of the most respected arrangers on the British
music scene'...Not on the strength of this kak he ain't.
|
We're struggling
a bit here...Ooof ! Bought on a very fallow day round the
charity shops, just to see What kind of damage Mr. Moorhouse
would inflict on 'Live And Let Die'. The boy did a job on
it all right...

Let it be known
that this is a pretty fine LP all round, but the pick of the
bunch of funky soundtracks is from the obscure 'Three Days

why dealers try and bump the price up so much on this album.

As with most

'The Look of Love' at the end of the LP, you've had just about
all you can take of 'em...

A You'll often
see this LP at criminal prices in shops on the strength of

groover, but tread carefully.

There are some

Two sides of
the same coin are on show here: on side one we have the
terrible limp lettuce of a country waltz that is the 'Bionic
Woman Theme'. Come to think of it the show itself was fairly
lame and awash with sentiment in the same way this track
is.
|
Ah, now...side
two serves up an immense take on 'The Six Million Dollar
